Repairing and Servicing LPG Boilers in Stoke

In many of our previous blogs, we have covered some of the many new and exciting forms of environmentally friendly heating solutions. From our excellent air source heat pumps to our industry leading thermal solar panels; there are now more ways than ever to heat your home in more environmentally friendly ways.

However, did you know that your boiler system can use gas while still helping to reduce your carbon footprint?

We are of course referring to the famous LPG boiler. At Royale Boilers Services, we provide high quality LPG boiler servicing in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas. These services include the installation, repair and maintenance of the aforementioned boiler which are all carried out by our gas safe registered engineers based here in Stoke-on-Trent.

Being a well regarded and well accredited boiler servicing company, we thought it would be helpful to answer some of the most asked questions regarding our LPG boilers.

What Are LPG Boilers?

Before delving deeper into more technical questions, we thought it would be helpful to illustrate exactly what a LPG boiler actually is and what are it's primary functions.

LPG boilers work very similarly to your traditional gas boiler systems, however, LPG boilers are not powered from the gas mains like conventional gas boilers are. LPG boilers are powered by liquefied petroleum gas, hence the abbreviation LPG, from a storage tank.

To be more technical, liquefied petroleum gas is made from a combination of gaseous hydrocarbons and oil refining. While liquefied petroleum gas is extensively used in domestic properties, they also have many commercial heating uses. This includes being used as fuel for cooking, industrial heating systems as well as fuel for vehicles.

Are LPG Boilers Energy Efficient?

As previously alluded to, LPG boilers are far more energy efficient than typical gas or oil boiler setups. Liquid petroleum gas on the whole is fast becoming one of the most popular, economical and energy efficient sources on the market.

Liquid petroleum gas burns hotter than most commonly used energy sources which allows for much better energy and cost efficiency. In fact, it is estimated that LPG is up to 5 times more energy efficient than other energy sources.

What Does a LPG Boiler Heat?

As mentioned, liquid petroleum gas can be used to heat many industries and/or items. As far as our LPG boilers are concerned, they can heat many of your traditional home appliances, much like other gas boilers. These can include, but is not limited to; central heating and hot water for taps, baths and showers.

Are LPG Boilers Cost Effective?

Contrary to popular belief, LPG boilers are not overly expensive. We have already touched on how, on the whole, LPG as an energy source which is extremely cost effective, but we did not state whether or not our boilers are.

Unsurprisingly, LPG boilers are considered to be very cost effective. While the initial cost of a LPG unit might be more than a gas or oil edition, the future savings will far outweigh the upfront costs. Because the system is cost effective, it will help to reduce your energy bills going forward.

Are LPG Boilers Being Phased Out?

To put it simply; no LPG boilers are not being phased out. However, there are a few caveats. Despite the fact that LPG boilers are not being outright banned or removed, it is unlikely that new build properties will come equipped with a LPG boiler as standard. This is largely due to the fact that the UK government have outlined plans to move away from gas and oil boilers to other sources of renewable energy.
